As a member of our team, you get to be like Oprah. Remember how she extravagantly gave away cars to her audience members? “You get a car, you get a car, YOU get a car!”
There is something ESSENTIAL and ELEMENTAL about helping others in a wide and generous manner. I don’t at all mean by the size of a donation but more to the direction of donation. Everyone gives to something. To give to something- to be part of something- that no one else cares to do, to help someone that no one else sees is life changing.
I saw their faces- the hurting, the sick, the dying– and I couldn’t walk away. I know you can’t either.
Their suffering is not just in the body, but in the spirit. So let’s be like Oprah. Our program does not hand out toy cars but gives them the metaphorical Toyota. We want to build up something that is real- QUALITY, SELF SUSTAINING palliative care programs where there is none. We get to give these patients the entire package of holistic palliative care- medical care+psychosocial care.
